Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal's wife, Anita Goyal, passed away on Thursday morning at a hospital in Mumbai after a prolonged battle with cancer.

Naresh Goyal is also battling cancer.
On May 3, Naresh Goyal's lawyer informed the Bombay High Court that the Jet Airways founder had "lost the will to live" while appealing for medical bail.
The court reserved its decision on the bail plea and instructed that Goyal should remain in the private hospital where he was admitted until May 6.
On May 6, the Bombay High Court granted Naresh Goyal interim bail for two months on medical grounds.
In February, a special court denied bail to Naresh Goyal but permitted him to receive medical treatment at a private hospital of his choice.
Following this, he approached the Bombay High Court seeking interim bail and release on medical grounds.
The Enforcement Directorate arrested Naresh Goyal in September 2023 on charges of money laundering and misappropriating a ₹538.62 crore loan given to Jet Airways by Canara Bank.
In November 2023, Anita Goyal was also arrested when the investigation agency filed its charge sheet in the case.
Given her age and medical condition, a special court granted her bail on the same day.
